Separate the carry-on essentials before handing over luggage.
Porters normally take the tagged larger bags before terminal check-in, and those bags may not reach the stateroom until later in the afternoon. Anything needed before dinner belongs in a carry-on.
- Original citizenship documents and adult photo IDs
- Port Arrival Form and reservation information
- Medication, valuables and charging equipment
- Swimwear, sunscreen and a change of clothes
- Any item a child will need before the stateroom luggage arrives
Use the reservation's live arrival instructions.
Families arriving independently should follow the Port Arrival Time displayed on the Port Arrival Form. Families using Disney Cruise Line transportation should follow the transfer and terminal instructions assigned to that reservation.
Once check-in is complete, the party waits for its boarding group. Boarding time can change with ship clearance and port operations, so avoid promising an exact minute.
Connect the app, eat lunch and learn the ship before trying to do everything.
After boarding, connect both adults' phones to the ship's guest Wi-Fi and open the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Check dining, entertainment and the required assembly information.
Lunch and many public spaces open before the stateroom is ready. A simple first-afternoon plan - lunch, a short ship walk, stateroom setup and the drill - is usually better than chasing every activity.

Every Guest must attend the assigned assembly drill.
The assigned assembly station appears in Navigator and on the Key to the World card. Every traveler must report when directed and follow the Crew Members' instructions. Attendance is recorded electronically; a Crew Member may scan one card for the stateroom, but the entire party must be physically present.
The process commonly takes about 20 to 30 minutes while services pause and the Crew explains the alarm, life jackets and emergency route. The sail-away celebration normally follows on the pool deck, weather and operations permitting.
