WELCOME TO ANAHEIM

Two parks, close together. Plenty to discover.

Disneyland Resort is in Anaheim, California—not Orlando. It has two theme parks: Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Their entrances face the same central plaza, making it much easier to move between them than between the parks at Walt Disney World. Admission and any required reservations still matter; being close together does not make a one-park ticket valid for both.

Downtown Disney District adds restaurants, shops and places to pause outside the theme parks. Three Disney-owned hotels and many nearby independently operated hotels give you different ways to stay close. Start with the whole resort rather than treating everything as one park with one ticket.

WHAT SOUNDS LIKE FUN?

A handful of favorites makes a better starting point than a giant checklist.

Ask each traveler for one or two experiences they are genuinely excited about. A younger child might care most about a character or a gentle ride. A teenager may have a thrill-ride shortlist. An adult may be picturing a relaxed meal or an evening stroll. Those answers help shape the trip before you commit to upgrades.

For a first visit, two or three park days can be a useful starting point to compare—not a promise that you will see everything. One day can be enjoyable when expectations are focused. A longer stay gives you more chances for breaks and repeat favorites. Count travel days separately from full park days, especially with children or a long flight.

  • Pick a few shared must-dos, plus optional ideas for anyone splitting off.
  • Note walking comfort, height requirements, naps and usual bedtimes.
  • Decide whether hotel-pool time or another Southern California stop belongs in the trip.
MAKE ROOM FOR THE WHOLE TRIP

Compare the vacation total, not just the ticket price.

Build a budget for the hotel and tickets, then include meals, airport transportation, parking or hotel fees where applicable, souvenirs and optional Lightning Lane purchases. A lower nightly room rate may be less attractive once fees and a daily shuttle ride are included. Look at actual totals for your party and dates.

School breaks, conventions, holidays and seasonal events can all affect availability. No month is guaranteed quiet. Check park hours and event calendars before choosing the order of your park days, then check again closer to travel. Separately ticketed evenings can change how long general-admission guests may stay in a park.

Offers have booking windows, travel dates, ticket conditions and limited inventory. I can compare eligible offers with regular pricing; waiting for a hoped-for discount is not a guarantee of better value.

ONE DECISION AT A TIME

Start with the big pieces. We can work through the rest together.

Choose dates, a comfortable budget and the right hotel location. Next, match tickets and park reservations to the days you can actually use. Connect your plans in the Disneyland app and keep confirmation details somewhere easy to retrieve.

After that, decide whether you want a reserved meal, any paid ride-access options or a special experience. Transportation and a practical packing list come next. Closer to departure, review the current calendar, weather and a flexible plan for each day. Disneyland’s rules differ from Walt Disney World’s, so use the California-specific guides in this library.

When you book through me, I help bring those details together around your family and provide a personalized travel companion before you leave. You do not need to wait for a particular guide to ask a question. Special requests and experiences remain subject to availability; planning support cannot guarantee a sold-out reservation.
