MORE THAN A PLACE TO SLEEP

Start with the room your family needs.

Before falling in love with a lobby or pool, confirm that the room works for everyone. How many separate sleeping surfaces do you need? Will an early bedtime leave the adults sitting in the dark? Would a second bathroom matter more than a view? The right room layout can make daily life much easier.

Room capacity and bedding vary by hotel and bookable category. A room that accommodates five at one resort does not mean every room at that resort does. Confirm the exact room description, whether a child-sized sleeping surface suits your traveler, and any accessibility requirements before booking. Connecting rooms and location requests are not guarantees unless explicitly included in the booked accommodation.

  • Compare beds and bathrooms, not only the maximum guest count.
  • Check space for luggage, a stroller and any mobility equipment.
  • Consider laundry, food storage and a separate living area if they matter to your routine.
FIND YOUR COMFORT ZONE

The best category is the one you’ll enjoy using.

Disney groups its hotels into Value, Moderate, Deluxe and Deluxe Villa categories. Category alone does not tell you whether a particular room or location is right for you. Compare the actual room, transportation and facilities instead of assuming that a higher category improves every part of your stay.

For example, Pop Century and Art of Animation have Skyliner connections; the Grand Floridian, Polynesian Village and Contemporary sit on the Magic Kingdom resort monorail circuit. That convenience is destination-specific: neither system takes you directly to all four theme parks. A good location is one that supports the places you expect to visit most.

If you plan long park days and mainly need a comfortable place to recharge, a simpler hotel may leave more room in the budget. If swimming, leisurely breakfasts and midday rests are central to the trip, the hotel itself deserves more weight. Compare a few meaningful alternatives instead of every available resort.

THE PERKS YOU’LL ACTUALLY USE

Early mornings and late evenings are different benefits.

Eligible hotel guests can currently use 30-minute Early Theme Park Entry at the four parks, with valid admission and applicable reservation requirements. Only selected experiences operate. Check your specific hotel’s eligibility rather than assuming that every nearby hotel qualifies.

Extended evening hours have a narrower hotel eligibility list and run on selected nights at selected parks. They are not included with every hotel that offers Early Entry. Look at the calendar for your dates and your family’s bedtime before paying more mainly for a late-night benefit.

Seasonal offers need a separate check. In particular, do not assume check-in-day water-park entry is included year-round. The 2026 promotional window ended September 8; future availability and eligibility must be checked for your actual stay.

COMPARE THE FULL STAY

A nearby hotel can be a good fit, too.

A non-Disney hotel may offer a larger room, a familiar loyalty program or a lower total. Compare resort fees, parking, breakfast, transfer costs and the practical limits of any shuttle. Ask where the shuttle drops you, whether reservations are needed and when the last return departs.

Some selected hotels qualify for particular Disney benefits, but the lists are not identical for every benefit. Verify Early Entry, Lightning Lane purchase eligibility and extended evening hours separately. Staying close to Disney on a map does not automatically include them.

Ask for a side-by-side total for the same dates and party. Include the time and effort of returning for a nap, collecting a car or moving luggage. Convenience has value, but it should be a deliberate choice rather than an assumption.
